Luke Orton Lindoe (1913 - 2000) is recognized as a pioneer of Canadian ceramics. In 1978, he was elected to the Ceramic Masters of Canada by the Canadian Guild. Between 1947 and 1980, he completed 13 major architectural commissions, founded and instructed at the Ceramics Program at the Alberta College of Art. He has had solo exhibits in all major Canadian cities, and is collected in a number of museums including the Nickel Arts Museum in Calgary and Alberta House in London.
